5 Questions to Ask Your Botox Practitioner
1. “Which brand of product do you use and why?”
Within our clinic we use Botox® otherwise known as Botulinum Toxin A. Botox® is supplied to us by Allergan Ltd; the UK arm of Allergan Inc, one of the world’s most reputable pharmaceutical companies. Allergan has manufactured and distributed Botox® for over 20 years for an increasing variety of medical and cosmetic uses. Botox® has now gained a reputation as the No.1 market leader in its field. There are other newer muscle relaxing products available on the market, however some are not well researched or tested as Botox and you run the risk of unwanted side effects, such as migration of the product into other areas. This can cause drooping eyelids or affect other muscles, giving an unnatural and uneven result.
2. “Can you show me the vial of product and the date on the box?”
At the time of your appointment you should be able to ask to see the vial to ensure what exact product is being injected. On the box it should always have the Botox logo with the date clearly marked on the vial. Any one of our practitioners will be more than happy to show you the vial and box being used.
3. “Who will be carrying out the initial consultation and the treatment?”
The GMC Regulations changed 23rd July 2012. The new ruling states that Doctors must have face-to-face consultations with patients before prescribing Botox and other injectable cosmetics. This is to ensure they fully understand the patient’s medical history and reasons for wanting the treatment. Always ensure that you see a GMC Registered doctor at the time of your initial consultation.
4. “Are your consultations ‘free of charge’ and will I receive honest and trustworthy advice?”
We believe that you should receive professional, expert advice to ensure you make the best decision possible. All of our consultations and test patches are complimentary to ensure you, as the customer, understand the treatment options. We ensure that our general check-ups and all follow-ups are also free of charge.
5. “How satisfied are your clients with their results?”
Royal Tunbridge Wells Skin & Laser Clinic has an on-going client survey online to ensure that standards are kept at an optimum level and that our clients are consistently happy with the customer service and the procedure results. Copies of our client testimonials are available in the waiting area for all clients to read. .
