When it comes to ageing, one of the first places to ‘go’ is the eye area.  This explains why blepharoplasty (upper and lower eyelid reduction) is increasing becoming the most popular cosmetic procedure in the world.

The new buzz in non-evasive blepharoplasty is 'The Madonna Lift' AKA 'The Madonna Eyelift’.  Pioneered by Dr. Bruce Katz, a leading New York Dermatologist, this new and revolutionary procedure has been proven to be safe and effective, with the added benefit of offering minimal downtime.  The results are impressive; with immediate improvement; dark rings, fine lines and wrinkles are diminished and treatment noticeably tightens the upper and lower eyelid skin and helps ‘lift’ drooping eyebrows.

DOT Therapy utilises the most up-to-date fractional technology.  Fractional refers to the way it treats only a ‘fraction’ of the skin at a time.  Modulated beams of light (about the width of a human hair), penetrate the skin in columns, destroying and contracting the old collagen within the wrinkles.

This encourages the body’s natural wound healing process and in turn, the production of fresh, youthful collagen.  The effects are proven; wrinkles around the eyes plump up, soften and tighten, making the eyes look fresh and awake.  Skin damage is limited, so healing takes place much more quickly.

No. Due to the fractional technology, damage to skin tissue is minimised with most patients experiencing only minimal discomfort both during the procedure and after. Patients should expect a slight swelling and redness around the eye area for a day or two after treatment, depending on skin sensitivity.

During the treatment, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the eye area and the patient is provided with an eye shield which protects the eye.  The procedure is quick and easy and we recommend 3 to 6 sessions every 3 weeks to help achieve the desired results

As this treatment is still relatively new to accurately predict long-term benefits, the results will last up to five years. To prolong the effects, we recommend that patients combine this treatment with muscle relaxing injections soon after the procedure has healed and the patient is happy with the results.
